Chocolate and peanut butter brownies

Macmillan coffee morning on Friday 27th September 2013, so what shall I bake to take? My granddad was going to pop down to his local to join in with the coffee morning tomorrow and so I wanted to take something to help out.
I searched all my favourite bloggers to try and find a recipe and came across this one by Averie Cooks for Peanut Butter-Swirled Fudgy Brownies

I wasn't sure how much 10 tablespoons of butter was in grams as I believed this to be quite a large amount so I halved the recipe; something I think I shouldn't have done as I cooked the brownie for too long and then dried it out slightly. Well, you learn from your mistakes I guess =]

I think I'm slacking today though, my energy levels just seem so low at the moment and I just couldn't even find the energy to cut out my squares in my usual perfectly measured way! =/
Ah well, at least I have something to give I suppose. Try it again next time and know now to just go with the recipe.

I got my mother to try a bite before I let them go as I don't want them to be inedible and she quoted "Yeah they're fine Bee, just maybe a bit too dry". Great. That's it. Not sending them off. Not good enough.

...In the end I gave in and just told my granddad to take them =] I guess they look okayish??

  1. 8 tablespoons is 1 stick of butter, and so 10 tbsp is 1 stick plus 1/4 of a stick. Not sure if that helps you or not - but yes, halving the butter is a big no-no in these because they would get incredibly dry and overcooked in a hurry. Thanks for trying them but just follow the recipe as written next time and you will LOVEt them :)
